• I stood there watching as L, the only person in the world who understood me, feel to the floor. I heard the spoon he dropped like a how a person would hear a pin drop in a dead silent room. Then came Light's screaming "WE'RE NEXT!" I knew we were not next. That Light was Kira. That this was all this plan. He didn't care if L was dead. He didn't care if his one true soul mate was dead and he was the one who killed her.
    Everyone in the room, staring at Light holding L. It finally sunk into their heads that L had just died, but for me, it didn't sink into my brain. I was not the kind of person who would except the death of a person of someone who cared deeply for me. I knew that when my parents died, I was alone in the world. So then I just grew up alone, with no one to care for me. I knew no more emotions, but then I can to Japan and signed up for the Kira case. L and I became friends and I guess he was the one who really showed me what it meant to live again.
    Everyone had left the room, leaving me alone with the body of L, No I should not say that, I still didn't except that he was dead, I couldn't do that. So as I stood there, just watching L not breathing something came on the big computer screen.
    "Kaye, if you are watching this, that means I am dead" It was L.
    "... No, you are not.... dead.."
    "Kaye, you have to except that I am no longer there with you. So this is my will, if you wish to call it that. I was planing on giving my detective spot to someone at Wammy's House, but as it turns out, I have chosen you to be my successor. I know you will except the spot or if you don't I have planed that Light will have it, and I know that he is Kira, even though the percentage that his is Kira are less that 1%. I am sorry that I have to put this bredon on you. I know that when you came here you didn't give if anyone died. You thought that it was right, if you suffered then everyone else should suffer too, am I not correct?" He was. I didn't give if we had found Kira or not, heck if we found him I was willing to take his power and continue killing . But that idea changed soon after L and I became friends and when Light came into the picture I knew that he was the one who we were after and that Misa was helping, even though that was ruled out. He continued, " but if you still want to continue with the Kira case, you must except that I have died, even if you don't. If you do take my spot on the case and have not excepted my death then the whole case will fall apart and you will not be albe to take down Kira, so this is my last wish, except my death and move on with the case. I have saved you a copy of what we have found on the case. If you do not take my place then delete it. I wish you the best of luck on the case and wish that you will continue being L in the feature. I knew that I would have to continue this case, that would make him happy....

    The room flashed a bright blue and I heard laughter along with it. The kind of laughter you hear in evil villain moves, when the villain had just won the battle and everything he did next was nothing compared with the moment that he felt when they had won. It was Light's laugh. I grew anger with him. He just ruined my life. I walked out of the room to find Light by the big windows laughing with Rem's Death Note. He did not notice me.
    "Light..." I whispered, "LIGHT! Do you know what you have done? Do you know that..." I could think of many questions to ask him, but non came to my mouth I was speechless, for once.
    "Do I know that I killed L. That I am Kira, that Misa is the second Kira? Yes I knew all that. I planned for Rem to kill L because he was going to hurt Misa, so Rem killed L knowing that she would die because she cared for Misa. Rem gave her the rest of her life span in doing so." He smirked, "and now Yuki, I am going to kill you." he wort down my fake name I had given to everyone. A minute passes, then two. "You! You gave me a fake name!" Light shouted.
    "Yes, I did, and now that I am sure that you are Kira. I am going bring you to justice!"
    He laughed, "you think you can take me to justice? I am justice! Kira is justice. And how can you take me down when I am L?"
    "You are wrong...." I thought about it. If I said I was L, then I was saying that I excepted L's death, something I knew I couldn't do.
    "Are you saying that you are L, Yuki? I think that you are not, that means giving in to L's death does it not?" He was right I would have to say that L was death....
    "...... I am saying... that..... Yes I am saying that I am L! He said that I was to be his successor! And I am going to take his place and to you to the right justice! Not this Kira justice!"
    "Yuki, I can see it in you eyes that you don't believe that L is dead, so you can not be L. And why would L want a girl to be the next L anyway?"
    I Looked down that the ground.... Was he right? Did I still not want to let go of L, I thought...
    "Light... is that true? Are you Kira? Did you kill L? Did you kill all those criminals? Light....." Light was busted!
    Light turned around to his dad and the rest of the task force all looking at him. He smiled, "yes, dad, it is true. I am kira. I killed all those people to make a new world were I am God. Were I can rule over the new world!" Light started writing something in the Death Note
    "That is pain sick, you know that!" The person who said it took out his gun and shot.
    The shot was joined with a loud clasp of thunder. The bullet missed, and Light was writing a different name in the Death Note. The guy shot more, all sounding like thunder and some along with thunder. Light shouted out with pain, blood going everywhere.
    "STOP SHOOTING!" Someone shouted. Light's dad shouted out in pain. I knew Light was behind it. Light killed his own father... Someone else's shouted in pain. Light was killing everyone. I ran to where Light was, not to protect him. I froze when I was blood everywhere. Blood coming out from the bullet shots. It was one of the sickest things I have ever saw.
    Light was covered in his blood, but he still was trying to write names in the Death Note. He was still struggling to live, struggling to keep being Kira.
    I had to get the Death Note, I had to for L..... I had to because I was the new L. I could not let more people die because I couldn't except the death of L.
    I picked you the Death Note. Light had just started to write a new name in it, other then the two that he had already. I stared down at the note book. I was right, Light didn't give if he killed his family.
    "You are so sick. How did you ever thing that you were going to be the god of the sick new world you were going to make?"
    "Ha... ha.. " He couched up some blood," I did make a new world, look around.... the crime rate is down, less people are dying-"
    You are wrong!" If you looked hard enough you will see that deaths are going up, crime rate is going up. It looks like more people realize that if you do a crime, Kira will kill you. They want to die" I said.
    "She... sounds.... like L!" Remarked the one who told the shooter to stop. I finally looked over to where they were. Light's dad was laying on the ground, and the person who had shot Light was also one the ground. If you had not see what happened, it would look like they were asleep, to much working and that they passed out in some random place...
    Light turned over, "Ryku... don't! If you get me out of here we can still..... take the worl......" He died so peace full looking. He was smiling. I couldn't help but smile back, even though I knew that I should not be smiling back at him after what he has done.
    "Well..." Ogie said, " This is over, Chief, L and Izowa are dead, and Kira is over."
    "That is right, but not true. L is still alive but the L we knew is dead. I am L but L" I looked at the front of the Death Note that Rem had owned, "no, L Lawliet is dead... Lawliet..." Tears ran down my checks, "Lawliet is dead..."
    "Lawliet?"
    "Yes, that is the name of the person who we saw fall and Light catch him so dramatically
    "Well you are the new L, and that means that you must take his role and continue solving cases, are you ready for that?" Asked someone who had just entered the room.
    I looked up to see Watari, "Watari! You are alive!" I swung my arms around him.
    He just smiled, "Yuki, or should I saw Kaye, L has given you his spot. I think he chose the right person for it. I ask that you, "he nodded to the live task force, "well keep in mind that you did not see the new L's face or her name, but if in times of need, you will contact us when you need us. I am sure that you have the number." He looked down at Lights peaceful body. "I will have someone come over to clean this up. And I have arranged that this building well now belong to the Japanese police." He nodded.
    "I am sorry this had to end this way, The Chief and his son are dead, and so is Izowa.... Their families are going to be so heart broken, especially the Yagamis." I shock my head.
    ~Month later~
    I stared at the headstone, it read
    'Here lies one of the worlds most intelligent men ever. May he be happy with what he has said, done and chosen. L Lawliet'
    Tears strolled down my checks. I laughed, "I have found a way to get through your plan. I don't have to except that you died, but I can except that L has died, not Lawliet." I smiled. I the distance i could here, "I always knew you would find a way to!"
    "Lawliet.... I do miss you..." I laughed.
