Ame felt tears welling in her eyes. She continued to look around, trying to take her mind off the pain. The inn was small and cozy. The floor and tables were all made from dark brown wood, perhaps mahogany. A few of the tables possessed red and white checkered table clothes, but most were bare. There were a few tables which held an arrangement of snow white daisies. From the look of the people sitting at these tables Ame could tell they were the upper class.
Most of the walls were bare, though there were a few pictures here and there, most seemed to be amateur work. She was particularly intrigued by what appeared to be a photograph of a pile of leaves. Upon further inspection one noticed the camouflaged moth lying against the pile of brown foliage. She didn't know what a moth, or leaves were, but she found the photo to be very pretty. There was a small staircase tucked into the corner, which lead to an upstairs area.
There was little light. Most of it came from the little hearth in the corner, where a fat black cat slept intently. It raised its head, yawned, and laid back down to sleep.
Ame clutched her head, it felt like it would break. She pulled at her hair, hoping and praying it would stop, but it wouldn't. The headache was only growing in its intensity. "Why...is this...happening..." she gasped.
Its the elemental burn. Nereus explain. I'm so sorry. My powers...I am a water and sound dragon. You're already bound to the water. But the sound...I'm so sorry. Nereus felt awful. She hated what was happening to her rider, and she was so young. She wished there was a way to help her, but there really wasn't. She had to get used to her power, or else it would kill her. She seemed strong. She knew she could handle it. But the waiting was horrendous.
Ame was getting dizzy. Little stars seemed to pop infront of her eyes. The volume in the little inn kept getting louder and louder. It was as if someone had plugged everyone into gigantic speakers and had turned up the sound full blast. The room seemed to be vibrating with the intensity of it. "Please, please be quiet..." she gasped. "Please..."
The room wasn't getting any quieter. She couldn't handle it. She tried to get up, but she couldn't. The moment she took her foot out of the water the sound seemed to grow in intensity. She gasped and sat down, hard in the chair, her arm knocking over her plate of still untouched food. It crashed onto the floor, smashing into a bunch of pieces. The fish landed a few feet away. The rolls rolled under the next table, where a little two year old boy immediately picked them up and shoved them into his mouth. The vegetables splattered all around, carrots going one way and brocolli in another.
Ame you have to be calm, it'll stop. Nereus said gently. Just think of something else.
She couldn't think of anything else. How could she? All she could think about was the pain. "Make them stop..." she begged. "Please be quiet," she waited. But it was as if no one heard her. She was shaking, she was growing angry in her pain.
"Ame please..."
"Shut up..." she gasped. "Shut up. Shut up. SHUT UP!!!!!!" she finally screamed.

Description:
Bad title, I know. I wanted to post something for this arena, but I sort of lacked any fiction (as in short stories or poetry) However I felt that this role playing post of mine was good, and a decent example of my writing. Rate how you will. Perhaps one of these days I will actually write something just for entering in here.
Italics would be Nereus speaking to Ame using her thoughts.
