• Chapter 1: vampire

Bryce sighed and thought “ my first day in this new school so sucked!” it had just happened to be a very, very, VERY, busy day today at class 5 at GALE middle, elementary, and high school (it was also a collage) so nobody had time to talk to him because they where all in such a hurry. It took the teacher about twenty minuets to realize that there was a new kid standing at the door to the classroom waiting for someone to notice him and give him a seat. The school day had ended without any of his fellow students noticing him or talking to him. Bryce leaned on a low brick wall just outside of the school building. Actually it wasn’t even off the campus. I wonder where the exit is he thought looking around. With a shock noticed that there weren’t any other kids around anymore. He checked his watch and realized that it was all ready 5:39 AM! He had stood there thinking about what a horrible day it had been for nearly an hour and a half! “Oh great” he thought angrily. “This is just superb. NOT! And now I’ve missed my bus! Arggh!! “A-lex?” Bryce heard a small voice ask. He turned and saw a very pretty young girl that he thought he had seen in the halls earlier. “Wow! She’s really cute!” he thought gaping like a fish. The girl spotted him and suddenly smiled broadly. “A-lex! There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!” she said happily. She ran over to him and hugged him. Bryce blushed, and gaped even more not knowing what to do. “Huh?” he heard her say. Then she gasped. “Your fangs are gone?! Wow! That’s soooo weird! How do you do that?” she exclaimed pulling his lips apart to get a better look. Bryce gave a muffled shout of protest but she gave no heed as he struggled. Some small part of his mind registered something. “Wait. Did she just say fangs? “It’s like your human!” she continued with a puzzled look on her face. “What does she mean “it’s like your human?” he though confused. “What are you doing Serenity said a voice coming from where the girl had come from. “What?” she asked. Letting out another gasp. Bryce looked where the voice had come from. There was a boy that looked a lot like him except he had darker hair. He was glaring at Bryce. “Two A-lex’s?” the girl asked in bewilderment. She looked back and forth between Bryce and the boy. Now it was her turn to gape. “Whoa! So dizzy!” “Did you forget to take some blood before school?” the boy asked with a cross tone of voice. “What does he mean blood?” Bryce thought even more confused. The girl toppled over and hit the soft earth with a loud “plunk”.

Later after they had taken the girl to the school nurse, the two boys sat in uncomfortably hard chairs outside of the patient room. “Um.. Is that girl ok?” asked Bryce, concerned. “What do ya think bozo?” Asked the other boy. “Urm…..” was Bryce’s only reply to that. “Gimme your arm.” Commanded the boy arrogantly. “W-why?” asked Bryce. “I’m gonna take some blood. Duh!” he answered in a “are-you-like-mentally-retarded-or-something?” voice. The boy grabbed Bryce’s arm slightly bruising it in the process. He took a thing that looked like what doctors use to take shots with and plunged the needle expertly into Bryce’s arm.
Something that looked like blood (and probably was blood) went into that thing that looked like a shot. “W-what? My blood?” stammered Bryce clearly weirded out. “Haven’t you figured it out yet?” asked the boy haughtily holding the thing that took Bryce’s blood up. Fangs + non-humans with the need of blood? It’s so obvious! VAMPIRE. “Omigawd! Zomg! OMFG!!!!!” Bryce yelled his eyes widening, and his mouth dropping open in horror. “Really? I had no idea. Well that’s interesting.” Bryce said immediately calming down. ‘Hey! What do you mean by that’s interesting?” asked the vampire. “Most people would be way more surprised! Do you think this is a joke? Huh? Well do ya?” the vampire asked his voice getting louder and more frustrated. “Nope. That’s not it at all. It’s just that I have some relatives that are vampires. I’m kind of quarter vampire or something. I don’t really think about it much.” answered Bryce shrugging nonchalantly. The vampire stared at Bryce bug eyed as if he couldn’t quite believe what he was hearing. “So, you’re saying that you don’t care if you have the blood of a monster that sucks blood and is feared by all humans, is running thought your veins?” “Nope, not really” answered Bryce shrugged again. The other boy had a you-really-are-mentally-retarded look frozen on his face. “What? Is that such a big deal? Didn’t ya say you’re a vampire?” asked Bryce. “Unless…. You where living weren’t you?” accused Bryce his face falling. ‘it’s not that, it’s just that, you do realize that that thing is kinda rare right?” asked the other boy who had somehow regained his composure.
