A woman, awaiting her husband's arrival, or at least, if he arrives. Tears of worry pour like a fountain, never stopping, her starry eyes, black as the night sky, their gleam is gone, covered by her sadness. Her children destroyed in attack except her one son, her husband assumed dead, her village gone. She stands from her seat and walks out the door, to the edge of the mountain where she overlooks the world, as it seems. Her son still shines, as if he has no worries, but inside his soul cries. never to be healed from his sister's loss and his father's too.
He hugs his mother, and cries with her, with memories of life and laughter flashing across the vast plain of their minds. Never to be healed, never. Even the cat cries, it seems they are the only living souls in the world, never to be found, never to be comforted by warm voices. The boy has sparkling eyes, even while crying, but the mother, her eyes are forever black, never to sparkle like stars again. They are now inside, by the fire, awaiting the sounds of trumpets, assuring that their loved father and husband is returning, but no trumpets, the only sound is the crackling of the fire, and the soup bubbling. After they eat they go back outside to watch the stars come out. Then the mother sais something beautiful, "Your Father used to say that our eyes looked like the starry sky itself" she choked, her son answered with rolling into her arms and starting to cry. They fall asleep there, and when they awaken, the sun seems to look not as happy as it used to. Everything seems sad. But the family makes the best of it, trying to forget what has happened. They keep saying that soon, soon he will appear with the biggest grin on his face, but no, he never appears never ever. They wait for 20 days, just waiting, just barely eating, just barely drinking, then to their surprise and joy they hear ..... TRUMPETS! and the clomping of hooves, they run out to meet them, and they see not what they expected, they see a coffin.... and no one they know..... one tear trickles down the mother's cheek, just ONE, and that tear was as black as the night sky,
one black tear.....she and her son where never to be happy again, never to smile again. That ONE tear would determined all of this, it was the one show of magic that she had, never to show itself again,
but she would feel it forever. They all held a burial ceremony in the garden of the sad family, and the scar of these happenings would be on these people for all eternity, and these names where Shaio, and Caroline, these two people would never be happy again, and this shows that if someone dies... do not let the black bloody arrows of sadness and sorrow pierce you as they did to them. Let it go, and the devil's black tear will not stream from your eye as to determined eternal sadness and sorrow, as it did for this woman and boy......
