• I struggled from his grip, but it was like fightning against a brick wall.
"Let me go!" I shouted. Finally, he stopped, and i shouted, "Just where do you think you're taking me?!" I demanded.
"Look, if you just be quiet for at least ten minutes, we'll be safe.
"Safe?! This entire damn forest isn't what you call "safe"! I nearly got my head bitten off by a bear a few weeks ago!"
"Well, now you're with me. Besides, you DO want to keep that eye of yours, or do you just want to end up blind?" I was silent. He was right, heaven would know how I'd loose my only eye. I've gotta do what is the safest. So i finally shut my mouth and was quiet the rest of the way. Then, about a few minutes later, I heard the sound of rushing water. I tried looking behind me, but my joints were so tired and weak from struggling from his grip a few miles back. The sound of the waves was so calming, I shut my eyes and pretended I was dreaming...
This is all but a fantasy... I'll wake up soon... I hope--

Just then, I felt the cold, not so soft ground hit my face.
"What was that for?!" I shouted "You could have just set me down gently!"
"Well, I'm not what you call... "gentle". Also, we're here. Now stay quiet while I go get Hunter." Dwain started walking towards a small hut on the side of a cliff. I watched closely as the door swung open, and a slightly tall boy with black hair stepped out of the glowing light. I saw their mouths moving, then both their eyes shifted to me. Everything was quiet. Then Dwain nodded and ran back to be, slung me over his shoulder again, then carried me to the house.
"So," the boy said wonderously,"who do we have here? Some sort of mutant or something? Sure doesnt look human. And where's her other eye?" Already, I was beginning to not like this guy so much. Then I realized, HE, wasn't human. He had two huge grey wolf ears sticking out of his head, along with a big bushy tail swishing behind him. He had pure gold rush eyes and a sort of dark-toned skin. He had no shirt or shoes, just a pair of ripped jeans he could have worn for a while.
"She's the one Zoron sent me to get. Fiesty one. Very stubborn."
"Hey! It isnt my fault that I was screaming and shouting! I had no clue if you were a burgler wanting to kill me or something!"
"Well, a burgler would have came in with a gun and bagged you up. Me, I just swept you off your feet and left."
"That makes no difference, Dwain." I grumbled.
"Well, don't blame me, that's the best way I can describe it."
"By the way, I'm Hunter." the wolf-boy put in. Dwain finally set me down. Well, more like drop me again on the ground. I picked myself up then brushed the dirt of my jacket.
"Go ahead, make yourselves at home. Any of you guys like fresh pork? I can't eat this whole thing by myself." Hunter said, pulling out a pig on a roaster. I was alright with eating pork, just not seeing the actual pig being turned into it. I nibbled on one of the legs, then took a bite out of the mango pie. I never tried mangos before, alot of people have been telling me they taste bitter. Not when they're put into a fresh baked pie. But nothing with ever beat chocolate mouse pie.
    "So, mutant." Hunter called me.
"My name is Norah." I corrected.
"Right, so Norah, how did you loose that eye?" I was about to answer, but Dwain said it for me.
"She was attacked by Lance's henchmen, only to kill her parents and injure her badly. She's lucky that she survived. Almost everybody i knew who was killed by Lance, couldn't stand a chance."
"Whoa..." Hunter mumbled "So, you made it out alive? How on Earth did you live?"
"I didn't escape myself, Johnny helped me. You've heard of him, right?"
"Johnathan Lockheart? The famous vampire hunter?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah, that's him. He's a very nice person to live with. He can tell you everything he knows about vampires. It's amazing."
"I bet. My dad used to be his co-officer, until he retired. Then, attacked by vampires in his sleep. Sucked him dry."
"Sorry to hear. Well, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's lost their parents." I concluded.
"Yeah... Well," Hunter yawned then stretched," I think its time to hit the sack. You guys need a place to stay?"
"That would be nice." Dwain said.
"Cool, guest rooms are down the hall to the right." Hunter said, then disappeared down another hall. "G'night"
