A man around 17 was resting in a inn silently in a corner. " Lance!" said a famliar voice. The sound of his name startled him. " Oh no.." he murmurred. His older cousin the king of Goldenrod was looking for him. He had been running away ever since he had been a boy. They had wanted him to take the throne after his cousin for his cousins wife could not bear child. Before he had been known as the respectful captain of the guard 'Sir Lance'. " Lance we should get moving," said his friend Jude. Jude had sharp features , dark brown hair with eyes of blue. This was the opposite of their other friend Andrew, who had sandy blonde hair, and bright green eyes. " Of course, " Lance replied. He on the other hand had redish brown hair and plain brown eyes. Lance was a serious boy who you could tell he was noblety by his stance, and face even the way he walked was even proper. And why would such a boy run away from the throne? He believed he could do more good if he traveled and helped the people in other places.
His friends were faithful knights who would die for him. Lance coughed hoarsely. " Lord, are you feeling well?" asked Jude. Jude was a worrier, he thought Lance the best unbeatable, but he knew he had an enternal sickness that weakened him. " Yes, quite fine, " he retorted. He was fine, he may had a cough but that didn't mean he was going to die. His sickness was in his blood ,but his wish before his death was to liberate the people from the bandit army 'Lineth'. He knewn that this sickness would claim its victum but not for many years to come.
" Oh you don't think that ole Lance here would just hit the tombstone quite yet, Judey," playfully said Andrew. He was playful and energenic while Jude was cold and stubborn. " OF COURSE NOT, Lord Lance is the best, not even Oblivion itself could defeat him!!" Jude said defensively. Judes one thing was that no matter what happens that Lance would come through. He at young age was saved by Lance who at the time was only a year older than himself. Andrew meet Lance in squire school, Lance always was the best swordsman, while Andrew had an ace shot. He had befriended Lance fast with his jolly pesonality.
" Enough talk ," Lance calmly but firmly said, " we must reach Vanderhill before nightfall." "Of course, my Lord," Jude atomaticlly replied. " Your the boss ..." Andrew murmurred. Little did they know what lied in the roads ahead.
