• Straightening his bow-tie, Grayle looked up at the towering monolith. Already he felt nervous. It was to be expected of course. After all, he was about to apply to become one of Earth's elite protector's against Angelo and Daemon alike. With a sigh, he donned his mask and stepped inside.

"'Ello miss. I've got an appointment to meet with Cappin' Earth'" he told her. Every second that passed, he became more and more anxious. The receptionist must have been used to this, as Grayle's nervousness didn't bother her in the slightest. "Eighty-ninth floor, block zeta, room thirteen." Grayle bowed to her politely, and quickly ran off.

"Floor 89" The automated voice told him, "Block alpha. Would you like a navigator to take you to your destination?" Grayle licked his lips to prevent them from drying, "No thank you. I'm trying to apply to be a protector of Earth. It wouldn't look good to be being led around by a robot. No offense." The automated voice countered, "I am incapable of being offended, sir. No navigator it is. And as I am programmed, I wish you good luck, sir." Grayle bowed again, before scurrying along to block zeta.

Finally reaching his destination, Grayle entered the interview room, and sat down, waiting to be tested by the greatest of the Earth protectors. As he sat, he thought, "He's so awesome that he doesn't even need a mask." After a long wait, a flabby, middle-aged, balding man squeezed through the door and picked up Grayle's file. "I see," he mumbled to himself, "100% on the aptitude. 99% on the physical. You seem to be just what we're looking for. Now, what did you say your name was?" Grayle suddenly found it hard to talk to this impressive being, but he managed to mumble, "It's Grayle, sir." The man continued, "Indeed. Now, were exactly is your hometown." "It's the ninth ring, sir." The 'superhero' stopped for a moment, before casually speaking to his watch, "Um, Trudy, code alpha." Coils began to wrap around Grayle, choking him. "I'm sorry, kid, but our number one rule is: No daemon heroes." Grayle managed to choke, "But you said I was just what you were looking for!" The superhero looked guilty, and finished, "Yeah, but that was before I learned you were a daemon. Now, tell me, how many daemon do you know that became Earth heroes?" Grayle, still choking, coughed out, "None, sir." The hero smiled, "And we keep it that way. Do you realize that the heaven/hell/earth wars are actually only kept up by Earth. We demonize those opponent's, and so many come flocking to us to become heroes. We kill them all. That's why we haven't lost." The last thing Grayle heard before he lost all consciousness, was an evil laughter.
