• Chapter 1

Have you ever wondered how people tend to annoy you and you see them everywhere? Well, I have.
It all started one year ago. I was in my 6th grade classroom. It was the first day of middle school and of course I just had to be new. I walked down the row of seats, trying to choose a seat that wasn’t in between morons. I finally chose the last seat on the third row. The classroom smelt like burnt cedar. I think that was supposed to be a bad sign but I wasn’t really sure of anything at that point.
I sat down my backpack and in came a girl with a face the shape of a diamond. She had a goofy blue and yellow dress strung across her body. A crooked smile crossed her face.
“Hello fellow comrades!” she yelled, making a scene. Her thin brown hair swung across her face as she glanced around the full room. The next thing I knew she was staring me down with vulture eyes by my desk. I guess I’m her prey of the day. I thought.
“Hi! I’m Kaitlin!” she said. She sounded way too happy.
    “Umm…” I couldn’t speak. I mean what was I supposed to say? You’re a nerd?
"I'm Eddie." I finally said. I hid my face hoping the blush would fade away.
"Well, I guess you could be a good friend." She flew to her seat and stared me down. I heard a giggle come from the girl in front of me.
She had long black curls stretching down her back.
