• Chapter 6 Duel

Mmmmmmm. YAWN!!!! man I'm tired. Ever since Yukino-san moved in its been none stop chaos. Both her and Kira-san are constantly at each others throats. Its gotten to that they don't see me unless its at school. I've been sleeping in the sakura park for a week now. I think Marco-kun is around here, too. We just needed a break form them. It was twilight of the following day when Marco-kun approached me in my favorite tree.

“Hey Sano-kun?” Marco-kun said to me as he walked near my tree.

“Sup man?” I asked him still dayzed.

“Aren't you the only one out of all of us who can cook?” He asked

    “Yeah, so?”

“So that means those two haven't eaten in a week.”

It didn't dawn on me till then, but once he said it a mental image of those two starving shot through my head. I sighed heavily.

“ O.k, lets go check on them,” I said leaping out of the tree. The two of us walked back to the house. It was a long walk so we talked about sword styles and which is better.

“I'm telling you that a knight sword and shield are a way better combination then a wakisashi and katana,” I proclaimed as we walked.

“No way in hell would that even begin to work. Both the wakasashi and katana are bladed weapons. If the opportunity were open then the two would break through the guard of the shield,” Marco-kun remarked. The two of us keep going back and forth like that for a while. That is till we heard a loud, really loud, ear shattering loud sound coming from the house, or the surrounding area. We looked at each other, then darted towards the sound. We got to a clearing near the house when we saw two figures standing on opposite sides of the field. Marco-kun recognized them instantly.

“Its Kira-san and Kagome-san. They look real intense right now,” He said. I took a closer look. Both of them were tattered and worn out. Their cloths were ripped and slashed from the other. Kira-san's shirt had a open rip that showed her bra. Her stomach and chest were riddled with small laceration and cuts. Her face had also seen some cuts to it. In the twilight glow, her dark blue jeans and sleeves were outlined in a aura of gold. Her eyes seemed harden, yet still the gentle Kira-san I know.

I took a look over at Kagome-san. We had never seen her transformation before. She wore the same outfit scheme as Kira-san. A skin tight tee shirt that cut off at the waist, with long sleeves that matched her element. Her element is the wind itself, so her basic color was gray. Her pants were also gray. She too had battle scars all over her body. Her right sleave was gone and she was missing a pant leg. They must have been fighting for hours, maybe even days.

“Do you think you can still take me Hime-sama?” Kagome-san mocked Kira-san, while she moved her silver hair out of her eyes. Kira-san smiled.

“Not a chance. In fact let me show you something i just thought of,” Kira-san said with a smirk. She sheathed her dagger in her right hand. Once in the holster she stretched out her arm in the direction of the river that runs near here. Her aura suddenly started to circle around her, kicking up dust as the energy swirled. Once enough was gathered a long stream of water came rushing to her body. It liquefied her down to a what seemed a molecular level. Her body was now translucent like the water itself, yet she retained her human shape.

“This is my Rapid Falls Assault,” Kira-san said. She pulled her arm back then opened her hand.

“In this form I can move as fast as I wish, and I can pressurize my body so i can cut through anything. Let me show you,” she said clinching her fist and looking up. In an instant she was on the other side of Kagome-san. Her Twin daggers were drawn, her arms crossed in an outstretched X shape. Kagome-san turned just to have her cloths torn to shreds. My nose instantly started to bleed as Kagome-san was left in nothing but her undies. Marco-kun had turned away so i wouldn't see his nosebleed. Kagome-san looked over at Kira-san and smiled.

“Nice,” She said snapping her fingers. A huge gust of wind swept over her, as she reformed her once torn clothing.

“How did you do that?” Kira-san asked. Kagome-san created a small whirl-wind in her hand.

“Each Phoenix can reproduce whatever they lost in combat as long as they have access to their element. I thought you knew that,” she said with a smirk. Kira-san seemed to get a more determined look on her face. The a gentle wind blow by. Both of their faces were covered by their long flowing hair. As the wind died down Kagome charged. Her weapons seem shine with a golden glow. They were a pair of bladed tonfa. Kira-san had a reverse hold on her daggers. She crossed her arms and started to dash after Kagome-san. Halfway into their dashes they both jumped and started to spin like a pair of tops

“Kaze no Jutsu: Bladed Whirl wind slash/ Mizu no Jutsu: Whirl Pull Slash!” they both called at the same time as they clashed. The spiraling maelstrom of water and wind collided in a breath taking dance. The clash seemed to slow time as the two fought inside the eye of this storm. I could see the slashing and blocking of both of these battle weary fighters. It was a true fight to the finish. As the wall of water and wind fell the final blow was made. Both fell to the ground exhausted. They lay there sleeping as Marco-kun and I walked over. We both looked at them, then to each other. We scooped them up and cradled them in our arms as we walked back to Kira-san's house. Once There we placed each one in their respective rooms. Marco-kun and I sat in the living room. We talked for a while before I decided to go into the kitchen and cook something for our tired fighters. But I wast to happy when I walked in their. It was a mess.

“Sano-kun need any he-” Marco-kun started, but cut himself off. There were splatter marks , flour stains, half full glasses, a couple of char marks, and a knife sticking out of a chicken leg. It was a mess. A really big one. I hung my head.

“At least the rice cooker is un-harmed,” I said looking over at it. It was shining in the chaos. Then i noticed several boxes on the ground. They were Rice Cooker boxes. Which means this isn't our original. Sweat seemed to run off my face in a stream right now.

“How can two girls not know how to cook?” I wondered out loud.

“Not sure,” Marco-kun said. To be honest I didn't think it was possible for two girls like Kira-san and Kagome-san could destroy a kitchen.

After cleaning the immense mess, I decided to go to the market and restock on kitchen supplies. As I walked, I noticed the moon was in the shape of a crescent. It was almost time. It had to do with the spell to conceal my true form. It was on a ancient scroll I found in a old Fushicho temple. It was written that a spell can be cast to conceal the truth and remain live in a lie. It can only be cast on a demon, such as myself. It gives me the appearance of a mortal for 15 days, then the one under the spell will be forced back into their original form. And on that day, the spell can't be cast for 3 full days. I've been able to hide myself during those days. They are usually days I don't have classes. But this time is different. Its right in the middle of the week. And I used all my sick days. I sighed heavily as I paid for my food at the counter.

“This is gonna be hell,” I said to myself.

“Something wrong sir?” the cashier asked. I didn't notice him at first.

“No, I'm ok,” I said looking up. My eyes quickly shifted to a stare. Manana was at the register, with his cell phone out. My bag dropped as I came to the realization that I was about to get screwed. My ear twitched as I heard a chamber about to rotate and a hammer about to slam. I quickly dodged to my left as a gun shot off behind me. I quickly scurried along the floor as the sound of running boots came after me. I looked back to see Jonuku running behind me with a gun in hand. A six shot revolver. I kept going till i got back to my feet and started to run. It seems like he is really out for my blood this time. BANG BANG BANG!!! three more shots. Two of them whizzed right by my head. The third i wasn't so lucky, it hit me in leg. It just grazed me so I wasn't in to much trouble. I dropped to the ground because of the pain. I clutched at my leg, right above my knee. Damn it all. I could hear the foot steps getting closer and closer. I glanced back. A sinister smile screeched across Jonuku's face. I was so screwed. I found myself looking down the barrel of the gun.

“Well well well. What do we have here?” He sneared with a devilish smile. He was enjoying himself as I looked into his gun barrel. I shifted my glare to him and turned it to a glare.

“Are you that weak that you would rely on a gun to do your dirty work?” I asked him with a cold stare. He quickly shifted from his smile to a deranged snear.

“It just makes things easier for me this way,” he said with a cold stare. I saw his finger pull the trigger. Within an instant I kicked the gun out of his hand and charged into him with my shoulder. He flew back a couple of feet and then caught himself. I darted in and delivered several powerful punches to his stomach. Then one more shot to his face. When his head was realling back I grabbed him by his hair and rammed his head into my knee. His head flew back as his limp body slammed to the ground. Blood pouring like an open faucet from his nose and mouth. I brushed myself off and walked to the counter again. Manana was quivering on the floor, his pants soaked and sagged with urine and crap. I looked down at him.

“Thanks for my groceries,” I said leaving the store. Thats the last time I use that store for a while.
