Chapter 2 - Past
"Jack," Fai said. (Jack was the name of the man that took me to the castle.) "Could you bring the horses back to the stable."
"Yes, my Prince." Jack bowed and left, leaving me with Fai alone.
"Prince?" I asked, suspiciously. something weird is going on.
"Yeah...well..." His voice trailed off, "My mom's the former queen of Celes."
"Does that mean we're blood-related?" Hopefully not because I have a weird feeling inside me.
"Nope. Close. Our families have been friends with each other for many years, but never in a deep relationship."
"Oh. Really." I was kind of disappointed by his answer, but I didn't know why.
Fai blinked at me a couple of times and smiled, "Don't worry we're still friends anyways. Come on let's go inside.
I followed him. "Woah," I exclaimed. Is this really what it looks like, I thought to myself. Outside it looked like glass, but inside was something more amazing than that. Everything was made out of its regular components. The table and chairs were made out of wood; the floors and walls were made out of stone; the vases were made out of glass with flowers inside and there was a big chandelier above us. Below us was a red carpet stretching up to the hallways making a path.
"Don't just stand there and look amaze. Come on." Fai grabbed my arm and started walking along a big corridor.
"How come the outside of the castle looks like glass but inside..." I look around.
Fai stopped and grinned, "By magic of course."
"Magic? There's such thing at that?"
"Yupp. Although only magicians can use it, not regular people like us. But, sometimes I wish we could use magic. I mean wouldn't it be cool being able to do something that nobody else can?"
"Yeah, but some people, they take advantage of that and use it for their own good, not for something that's more important."
Fai stared, intently at me, then laugh, "Possibly you're right. Now I see why you're the next heir to the throne instead of your older sister."
"Wait. Sister?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. When your older sister was born, your mom left this world to Earth. She left your sister with your father. Whenever she was five your died and she was left alone in the castle, not including the people who work here. Since our family has been friends for many years we took her in, by that time she grew hatred in her heart. Whenever I was four and she was six, she lightened up and occasionally smiles, but when I had to Earth and meet with the lost princesses, she became furious and killed many people with her magic. That was the last time I saw her. People say she died, some say she ran away to somewhere far."
I half listened I only heard the beginning and parts of the middle the whole time I just nodded.
"You didn't listen to a word I said. Did you?"
"I listened, but only a little bit."
"Anyways we're here." We stood infront of a big door with a big butterfly, half was white and half was black. I felt sort of sick, there was a stench of strong perfume. I covered my nose hoping not to smell it, instead, it grew stronger.
"What's that smell?" I manage to choke out.
"It's magic. My mother's also a magician."
Fai opened the door; the butterfly splited in half. "Mother, Where are you?"
"I'm right here." Fai's mother appeared infront of us out of nowhere. She walked through Fai (literaly). Fai acted like it was nothing. She examined me and pinched my cheeks. She looks almost like Fai, same blonde hair, but green eyes. She giggles. How come I've never seen her for the five years Fai lived on earth? "Well, aren't you a cutie pie. I wish your mom could see how much you've matured."
"What happened to my mother?"
"Your mother," she hesitated, "was killed by your sister, May, when she was trying to protect you."
"How come I don't remember anything?"
"Because she erased your memories. Lets sit down." We all sat down on a chair. "You see, your mother was a dreamseer. (The only one of her kind.) What she say was when you turn five May would kill you so she died in replacement for your life."
I had tears in my eyes I wiped them away and heard my stomache growl.
Fai stood, "Well, time for breakfast. I wonder if its something good." Fai kept saying more things, but they were so fast I caught only the end, "Maybeitwillbepancakes. Ibettheplatesaregoingtobefancy. Whatwouldyouliketoeat? Wouldyouhelpmecalleveryone? Why, thankyou, I'mgladyouaccept."
"But I didn't say anything."
"Well, then. Let's gooo!"
Fai grabbed my hand and ran off. Everything happened so fast I felt dizzy. I never knew Fai could talk that fast!
