On the coldest night in the middle of winter a dark man entered the old tavern. He was tall, muscular, and had long midnight black hair tied into a ponytail. His dark green eyes scanned the dimly lit tavern. His glance made the room shiver in fear. He sat down at the bar and asked for a drink. As he drank the warm liquid he could not help but over hear a group of drunken men talking amongst themselves. The y spoke of the town's misfortune and hardship. Of how bandits would come by night and take their women and children and ransack their fields a blaze. The bandit leader, Vesputo had killed their king and had made waste to the castle. The dark man stood. Thirty or more men had just entered the tavern. They were dressed in furs and leather. Some had acquired armor from the soldiers they had killed. They were also, armed with swords, spears, and torches. The tavern jumped around like deer from a wolf. The dark man held his ground in the center of the room his sword drawn. It was a two handed sword the blade was made of enchanted black crystal. The hilt was of pure silver ans had an eerie face adorning it. The face frowned and gave a loud groan as if it were hungry.
My name is Landon the soul stealer, if you fear my blade then flee and you shall not be harmed however, if you think you are strong come. The bandit’s laughed as they closed the gap between them. One swing and the bandits fell to the ground. Their souls slipped from their bodies and were devoured by the face on the hilt with a satisfied groan. The face then fell silent. The bartender was in an uproar and was franticly pointing to the window. One of the bandits had survived and was making his escape with the bartender's oldest daughter over his shoulder.
Landen ran out and chased the man in shadow. Landon followed the bandit to the castle and down into a secret passage. Lightning flashed like a sword thru the air, thunder followed and the bandit fell to the ground, wind tore threw the passage as the soul was devourer by the sword. Landon emerged from the passage with the girl in his arms her skin was like ice and she shivered. He went along the main corridor till he was in front of the doors that lead to the throne room. He placed the girl on her feet and pushed open the doors. Vesputo sat on the broken throne the dead king to his right. His blonde hair was dirty and wild, he had sharp blue eyes and his skin was rotten.
My name is Landon the soul stealer, if you fear my blade then flee and you shall not be harmed however, if you think you are strong come. Vesputo sneered at his words as he stood up from the throne. His sword he pulled from the king’s chest stained with blood. The men entangled in a fight their swords clashed sending sparks into the air. The rain out side poured on the walls and into the castle. The wind blew tossing their cloaks around, each mans cloak blinding the other. Vesputo fell to his knees a look of terror on his face. Blood trickled from his wound. The face groaned and not only did it take his soul but his body and his evil.
The next morning the girl returned to her father in the tavern and there she explained all that happened but, when the townsfolk went to thank him Landon was nowhere to be found. The warrior named Landon had vanished with the storm. Even till this day if you listen closely at night in the middle of a storm you can still hear the distant groan of the sword and the warrior's voice. I am Landon the soul stealer.
