• Chapter 16 - Daijobu*?!

I was outside of the infirmary, throwing pebbles into a lake behind it. "Sorry.. but I think we should leave Shadow.." "Huh..?" I turned to find Aya's soft, sad smile that I have seen many times. "Time is being wasted. If we don't find my body soon.." Mystery closed her eyes. "I feel.. Catastrophe in my kingdom.." "Your home?" "No.. My kingdom.." I stared at Mystery. Mysterious indeed she was. "Your a princess?" "Y-Yes... Hasn't Shad- Shadow say anything?" I shook my head, wondering what she meant. "Ugh. That boy. Sometimes things should be told." Mystery shook her head in what I thought would be shame. "The infirmary. They have swords," I suddenly remembered. "Katana's, correct?" "Y-Yeah..." I blinked several times, making lights dance in front of my eyes. "Let's borrow them to recover your body. Shadow.. will understand." I said this doubtfully, but Mystery ignored it. "He will.. That kid.... Agh..!" Mystery slammed a rock against the ponds peaceful water. The waves rippled, and calmed again, just as Mystery did. "Did.. Did something happen between you two?" "Ha!" Mystery cried loudly. "Oh of course not..." Mystery stated in as very sarcastic tone. I felt a little put down but didn't show it. "Well what did happen?" "I trust him to tell you," her voice ice-cold. She walked off, the wind blowing as if created by effect. I stared at the pond as if waiting for an answer. And surprisingly, I saw Shadow's face. "Shadow?!" The 'reflection' began to talk to me. "Go on. I forgive you." And it disappeared. "Wait..! Shadow?! What.. What's your relation with Mystery?!" But there was no reflection to hear me. walked back slowly, feeling tear-ish. Mystery waited for me. "Sorry.. But I got dual katana's for each of us." Mystery handed me two swords, and kept her two swords in their protectors. "I want to talk to the cats first." I walked in to thank the cats for allowing us to use the swords. "Oh-meow. Is there something wrong with the katana-meow?" I shook my head. "No problem. Just wanted to say thanks." Something was reflected in the cats big eyes, but I tried to pay no attention to it. "Uh-meow.. I recommend thi-" "No its okay! Thanks!" "I would do anything to help-meow. Especially for the princess and pri- meow?" I tried to get a good look of what was reflected in the cats eyes. I saw someone motioning, as in, 'Don't keep on talking.' "Uh.. leave please-meow. Its limited time-meow." He pushed me out with Mystery. "Goodbye-meow! Come back for your friend-meow!" The cat waved, and we smiled and waved back. "Weird.." I murmured. "Huh?" "Nothing.." Mystery and I traveled along the north wall and to the east. Then, from east, we went south. "Ah..!" Mystery gently said. "What?" She knelt to the ground, and picked up a necklace. "This is where it went.." she whispered. Mystery smiled and held it up for me to see. "Wow...." It was beautiful. It had crescent moons and stars, all dangling on one chain. "It looks heavy. But beautiful." She nodded, half laughing. "We're close." She began walking west, and I followed.

"There!" Mystery pointed to a body, laying on the ground with an x shaped scar that was visible on her back. We walked in the clearing, to get a better look. Her face looked sad, and hurt. "Carry it. Just in case. We need the scar healed before I can return." I nodded, and pulled Mystery's body above my shoulder. "So glad you could come back.. Princess..! Or should I say.. Princesses!" A voice said menacingly. I heard rustling in our surroundings. A black figurine came out, and pounced at me and Mystery's body. "Watch out!" Two voices yelled in unison, and I crossed my arms in protection. The blow never came. The figure was being held down by a whip. "Shade?!" "Shadow?!" Mystery and I said in unison. "Shade?" "Long story, short, tell later!" The black figure smiled at 'Shade'. "Smart little boy, aren't you, prince?!" The thing slipped out of Shadow's whip's grip, and went back. "O...O..Onii-chan...!" Mystery stuttered. "Onii*-chan*?!" "Again, later!" Shadow yelled irritated. We got into a miniature fight. "How are you her Onii-san?!" "Because he was born first!" "But you look nothing alike!" "Well she's in Aya's body isn't she?!" We rambled on, forgetting about the thing that watched us. I felt the air rush. "Watch out!" I pushed Shadow to the ground, and felt something grind against my back. "Nika-chan!" Shadow yelled. "Daijobu?!" "Hey... What's with all the Japanese?" I said weakly. I smiled even weaker. "Little boy can't play his game on his own? Oh oh! I'm liking this a lot!" Shadow ran whilst carrying me to a far tree. "Stay. I won't get hurt. I promise." He said this as though he could read my mind. I flinched, as the pain in my back grew. Shadow was already in battle again. I threw my katana with out thinking at Shadow, but just in time, it speared the black figure."N-n-noo!!" It melted, bubbling and disappeared into the soil. Shadow ran to me. "I'm sorry! I never told you the truth..!" He looked like he was on the verge of tears."Shadow..... Your.. okay... Yo..kata*..." And I'm sure my body fell limp, because everything was dark.
