• tab The world was silent, as if the animals held their breath and the wind dared not to speak. The sunset was a dark crimson and the sun a brilliant gold. It flared across the snow like blood.
tab A woman was walking down the empty streets, exotic and wild. She was wrapped in a beautiful gown of sparkling white that looked like a vibrant flower. Her skin was smooth and sunkissed, and she had thick white hair set up in a bun on her head. Pink eyes danced from house to house.
tab Zentar sat motionless in the trees, thinking that perhaps Zachary had overestimated his enemy. She was beautiful, but looked about as dangerous as a kitten. Obviously, Zentar had never had his heart peeled from his chest like an orange peel. His mouth dropped open when he noticed the woman's tan, slender hand curved around a pulsating mound of red. Blood trickled down her fingers.
tab She drifted along top the snow, oblivious- or perhaps not caring- of the soldier in the trees. She blinked her pink eyes slowly, the glistening depths reflecting all the way up to Zentar. A man of immense violence himself, Zentar found himself even more in admiration of the white haired woman.
tab All of a sudden, her lips parted in a smile. Across the street, another woman was walking, with the same hair and in the same dress, but both a glowing black. Her skin was so pale it appeared a dull silver, and milky jade eyes shined with warmth. They both hugged, their ethereal presence making the street colder. They began walking, hands clasped together over the bloody heart.
tab Zentar stood, ready to warn his master. Nesertala and Enair were back.
