“Someday you’ll know, why I wasn't meant for you.”
--------
“What?” she looks so confused …I only realized this now but…she’s super pretty.
“It’s obvious, Ae…the answer’s clear as this day.” And just so you know…this is the clearest day we’ve ever had since 1993.
“What? I don’t get it.” I can’t believe I’m doing this…on Valentine’s Day.
“There’s nothing to get, Ae.” Well there’s nothing to get from me.
“I still don’t get it.” I don’t know who’ll feel worse about this…you or me…
“You’re in love…” You’re in love with someone else.
“Well…duh. I’m in love with you.” Stop hurting me.
“Why do you keep trying to make me feel better? I’m done with your lies, Ae.” God, what’s with this pain in my chest?
“What are you talking about?” It’s not a what it’s a who.
“I know the truth, Ae.” Wow, I sound like an action star.
“I really don’t get it…what’s wrong, Es?” You sound like you care…do you?
“I really wish you could read my mind…Ae…you’re in love with----” I can’t say it.
“Bee.” Thanks for sugar-coating it, dear.
“Yeah…Bee…for several years now, right?” I didn’t know it would hurt this bad.
“Es…I’m sorry…” No you’re not. You’ll never be…I bet you’re grateful right now.
“It’s okay…I knew I wasn’t the right guy.” You’re killing me, Ae!
“What do you mean?” End it right now!
“I knew…when we met…there was a spark…it grew into a fire…then one day I realized that the fire was an illusion…there was no fire. I realized that when…” The pain’s leaving.
“…When you asked me something about Bee.” Hey…it’s gone…
“Yeah…3 years ago.” Wow…it took that long?
“3? But it feels like you just asked that…” Yesterday…that’s because I did.
---------- [FLASHBACK (BACK-BACK-BACK-BACK)] ---------
“So, Ae…its Valentine’s tomorrow and I was wondering if you wanted to go out…I really want to tell you something.”
“Sure…”
“Ae…what’s wrong? You’re so distant all of a sudden.”?
“Nothing’s wrong…I’m fine…”
“Oh…okay. So…um…how’s Bee?”
“Bee? Oh yeah…Bee. Um…he’s fine…I think…”
“You guys are still close?”
“Us? Yeah…we’re close…”
“You liked him before, right?”
“Huh? Who told you that?!”
“Cee.”
“That little b*****d.”
“So…is it true?”
“Yeah…I LIKED him. Past tense.”
“Of course…past tense…so how’s about that date…”
---------- [REALITY (ALITY-ALITY-ALITY-ALITY)] ----------
“That was yesterday…” No, it was last year! Duh, Ae.
“You think?” Damn…what’s with this girl?
“Es…I’m sorry…I love him but…” But what?!
“Enough of this bullshit!” Control yourself, dude.
“I love you too…” Wait…
“What?” Is that a spark I see?!
“Es…Bee’s getting married.” This is crazy!
“What? Was that why you were down last night?” I can’t believe it.
“Yeah…I’m sorry…I made you go through this for 3 years…I’m so sorry…” No…wait…it’s not a spark…it’s a…
“I’ve changed my mind.” …a fire.
“Huh?” Is this all an illusion?
“I know I can’t be like Bee. We’re not alike. I’m not rich or well-educated…I’m not perfect…but I promise you I can be all you’ll ever want. I’ll be there for you no matter what. If I die…I will force…um…Hades to reincarnate me just for you.” Is this a wicked dream or what?
“Hades? Are you a Christian??” Wait…this is a dream, right?
“That’s not my point. All I’m saying is…I will follow you ‘til the ends of the earth.” I can’t believe it.
“Es…you really do care…don’t you?” I really can’t believe this…
“Yep.” I never want to wake up.
---------------
And I never did. Because that night…was not a dream; it was all real.
And since that night our fire kept growing stronger and stronger…just like the ones you see in Olympics.
And now…well…let’s just say we’ll be spending the rest of our lives together.

- good story, but I feel like the story is a little hard to follow with the main character thinking to himself, for a while I was wondering if that was them talking or just what each was thinking. Otherwise it's a solid story with true depth in it and after I figured out that it was him thinking on the side there I truly did enjoy reading it.
