“Vaun!” I heard her call out. I took a small peek to see her running towards the tree where I was until she stopped in the truth, staring at me with a bright smile. She had a basket of apples in her hand. I ignored her presence, knowing she’d annoy me again.
“Oh? He’s asleep. I wonder what I should do.” I waited to see what she was up to.
She placed the apples safely beside the tree and pulled her sleeves up. And pathetically, she tried to climb the tree. To my expectations, she fell down. I had to suppress my laugh. She gave up after several tries to my relief. I returned back to my sleep. It was peaceful until a few minutes so I took another glance at her. She was looking around, trying to check something and when she was sure, to my surprise, brought her wings out.
She giggled, which irritated me. Was she serious?
She flapped her wings through the tree until she reached the branch where I was lying down. I closed my eyes but kept my other senses running.
“Oh. There’s a leaf in your hair.” She said. I imagined her smiling while removing the leaf in my head. She was quiet for a minute. I waited till she went away, but she was there, floating the air, waiting for something. And then, I felt her hand on my chest.
“I hope you forgive me from what I’m about to do.”
What was that supposed to mean?
I sensed her presence coming closer to me. She kissed me on my right cheek. I felt her warm lips and it lingered even when she moved away. There was a weird tingling sensation after that. I never forgot that.
I took a small glance but found that she was already gone. She had returned back to the house, leaving the basket of apples. I hopped down from the tree and landed with a small thud. I took an apple from the basket and bit it. Delicious. I smirked.
