"DON'T LIE TO ME, SCUM!" Yelled the prison guard, as he punched me in my face.
"Do you think im going to tell you.... the truth?"
I felt a sharp pain through my left hand. There was a sudden gush of heat. I screamed in agony. I watched my hand as the guard jammed a blade into my palm.
"YOU WILL OBEY AS THE KING ORDERS, WHY DID YOU TRY TO KILL THE PRIEST?"
"I... I... I can't te-"
The blade was thrust deeper. I couldnt withstand the agony.
"OK, OK... ILL SPEAK" I blared.
The guard simply smiled.
"Talk..."
"I... I was told... By the speaker."
"The Speaker?"
"Yes... He is the... the leader of my organization"
"And who do you work for?" Asked the guard in a threatening voice
"The.... Underground Temples"
And So my story began...
The Speaker stood before me. He held a piece of paper. It was a contract. But... there was something different, it was sealed.
"Manel.... This is a special assignment, we saw your skills as the most... reliable in this case" Said the speaker gently
"My lord, anything for the temple"
I took the parchment and bowed. Then I set off to my chambers, to study and plan what I had to do.
I sat on the stool in my chamber and unravelled the contract, It read:
In Decleration that you have promised your life to the underground temple, You must forfill this contract. The priest, Sir Nikolai Merti of Akalon is holding a service to honour Demutri. We as the honourers of Laiter must not allow this to go ahead, before he converts the great country of Akalon into a Demetrian community. We have trusted you with this mission. You must assassinate the pope, so no harm can come to the country or its people. We reccomend you ask around the great church for ideas in where you can get Nikolai.
The best of luck,
Munarid Netriy, Leader of the Underground Temple.
I went streight for what the contract said.
"So you were sent to kill the priest by Munarid Netriy?" Asked the guard, now calmer than before
"Yes.... He gives all the assassins their missions."
"So then... What did you do next?"
I left the entrance to the underground temples. The breeze was soothing. My robe gently fluttered in the breeze. I set off for the great church of Laiter. I had to make sure I got all the infomation I could before I struck the pope. Otherwise I might aswell just give myself in right now. I walked down the long cobbled path, before reaching the church. I made sure my weapons were concealled... Then opened the doors to the great church of Laiter.
