• After I had finally gotten myself to sleep, the dreams came in. The dreams that have been tormenting my emotions and mind for a week now.
This time, it wasn't like before. It wasn't the two of us older. It was us, only younger, and somewhere else.
"Princess Alice. Come. I must tell you something important... Dear." A strong voice commanded. I stood up and followed till I came upon the king... Or at least that's what I thought...
    "Yes, father?"
"You will be watched by one of our finest knights. Since lately there are..." He cleared his throat, "many problems as of late... Caleb. Come on out here." He clapped his large hands and pulled me closer to him as a man entered the room.
Dante? I was so certain it was him, but not the me in the dream. That was more of a feeling that I was attracted to him, but didn't know why.
"Caleb, this is my daughter. You will be her guard. Understood?" His voice boomed and I flinched at his words. Apparently my expression was grim, because my father patted my head and whispered softly that everything will be alright. Caleb was his most loyal and trusted knight.

He put a gentle hand to my back and pushed me away. Forward to introduce myself to the young man.
"Good evening, your highness." He said sternly and bowed. He extended his hand to shake or whatever men did when they kissed a woman's hand.
I felt my hands shaking, but as I gave it to him, I blushed. He noticed but hid his smile and gave my hand a tiny kiss.

After that, it was all downhill from then. I only wished he and I could be together. Always thinking of ways to see if he would really love me, like I was in love with him.
He always seemed to wake me up. And always took my hand. He went out of his way to do little things for me. Even when I had asked for the hardest things to ever get. Somehow he always managed. After a while, I had pushed my boundaries further and further.

Like, asking for him to help me with getting dressed. Or if I looked okay in something. Always testing and trying things. He seemed to slowly get what I was up to. And we finally each were able to confess our feelings one day.

I had been known for walking off to some distant place where they wouldn't find me for hours. But when I had tried it while Caleb watched me, he followed me into a little forest. Nothing too scary there, just a little pond and a clearing.
"I've been wanting to tell you this..." I said looking down. I began to clam up, and play with my hands.
"What is it, your highness?" He said as he moved closer. He didn't dare touch my hands, but I could see how much he wanted to.
"Sir, I've been wanting to tell you..." I kept my eyes down and began to play with a bracelet.
"Tell me..." He gently touched my hands, finally. I looked up and our eyes were locked.
He leaned forward and kissed my lips gently.
'Yes! So I get him, right? Right?' My conscious mind thought as it watched the dream flow quickly.
But my hopes went down... Caleb said he and I or Princess Alice couldn't really be together. She was to be married to some other prince. But somehow that didn't stop her... me. Alice.

Alice and Caleb's relationship progressed and no one knew it. No one knew that we were even interested in each other. And that's how we liked it. Until that day finally came. Where I was finally married off to some a*****e.
That's when we had to stop some things of our relationship. Caleb wasn't jealous, or that's how it seemed to me at first. He seemed to still know I loved him. Nothing would change it.
Not even when I got pregnant... with Caleb's child...
That was when all of Hell was breaking lose. Alice's husband knew she was close with Caleb and she was hiding something. He complained to the king and the king had Caleb ordered to die.

"I won't let them kill you!" I screamed as I tried to pull him back to stay with me.
"Alice, you must. I love you, I don't want you killed too. I must go." He kissed me goodbye, locked the door and ran to his death. He fought a good fight, then was attacked from behind.
    "It's your child..."

I awoke with tears on my face. The sheets were thrown around everywhere. The darkness was over me again.
'********! That's it! I can't stand it anymore! I'm gonna call Caleb. As soon as I started getting up, something pulled me down.
"No... Not this again!" I thrashed around and finally got a hold of my phone and dialed his number.
"Caleb? Hey. This is Alice..." The images of the other Caleb flashed in my head.
"O-oh. Hey..." He yawned into the phone. "What's up? Why the late call?"
'Late?' I looked to my clock. '2:29 am!? ********... he will worry now...'
"Alice? Did you fall asleep on me?"
"No. I need to talk with you about something."
    "What's wrong?"
"Caleb... Have you ever had strange dreams that seemed so real?" I asked quietly.
There was a silent pause. I thought I heard him say, 'Finally...'
"Sometimes. Just about being there with you. Did you have a nightmare?" His voice was sleepy once again.
"...Yeah... Something like that... I'm sorry."
"A girl like you, should be sorry for one thing... Not loving a person back. But even then, she shouldn't be sorry."
"I love you..." My voice trailed off to whispers.
"Want me to leave so you can sleep?" he asked.
I yawned and said sure. But I never really meant it.
"Good night. Go to sleep, I'll be on the line for a while longer."
Closing my eyes, I asked why.
"So I can hear you talk in your sleep..." He chuckled.
I smiled and wished I could have asked what I really wanted.

The next day I walked into the school building and straight to my best friend... Yoru. With a large notebook filled with dreams I had. And my only hope... 'Please let her believe me... Please say she'll understand.'
