Summoning a small flame into the palm of his hand, Magnus lit the cigarette between his lips and took a drag. He looked out at the sea before him and shivered slightly as cold winds swept the hull of the ship he was on. He scanned the area and noticed a something a few miles out. He pointed to it and looked to the captain of the ship.
"What's that out there?" He asked with a voice like he was just getting over a cough.
The captain, a middle aged man with a beard that was collecting frost, looked out in the direction Magnus was pointing. He squinted his eyes to get a slightly clearer view.
"That's the tower constructed by fire demons almost eight hundred thousand years ago." He said and looked at Magnus. "You should know that though. You're a fire demon, after all."
Magnus took another drag of his cigarette and tapped the ash off.
"I would if I was from this continent, maybe. But after the Purges in Proctica and Tranguile, all history about fire, earth, water and wind demons was lost or scattered. And there's only fifteen fire demons left in the world. Fourteen of them are in Destra, helping to lead the country. My question is, how is that tower still standing after so long?"
The captain laughed a bit and looked back out to the tower.
"There may be fifteen of you left on the eastern hemisphere, but there are so many more living around that tower, watching over it." He said.
Magnus' eyes widened in surprise.
"Truly?" He asked and the captain nodded. "Would we be able to land there?"
"No, unfortunately. There are too many rocks just under the ice. No ships have ever landed there. And the ice is too thin to walk across. The only way is to start from Port Orion at the southern tip of the continent." The captain explained.
Magnus swore and leaned over the icy railing of the ship.
"I want to see that tower up close." he said and took another drag of his cigarette.
