The Awakening
Chapter 2
"We are here now guys." Ken said as they pulled into the main
entrance of the camp. Eizen woke up in a daze that was quickly
shaken off by the feel of the camp they were at. He couldn't put his
finger on it but the air and even the ground as he stepped out of the
car wasn't normal like it wasn't the same world. He blamed it on him
being tired and ignored the feeling as they walked into the main office
at the entrance. Chris walked in as he looked around. "Hey it's us
again!" he exclaimed as a woman came out from behind the front
desk with some papers and files. "Oh we have some newcomers I
see." she said as she looked at Eizen and Chris' girlfriend then focus
on Eizen. "I see a special one here." He felt her gaze strongly even
this woman gave of that odd feeling and it was starting to bother him.
"I just need them to sign these papers showing they paid for the time
they are staying." she stated as she handed both of them some
papers, Eizen became lost in thought as he looked over the paper
then peered out of the window near the door of the office. He looked
at the road that went out to the main highway as seemed to distort
slightly. "What the ******** Must be more tired then I realized." he said
to himself as he finished signing and handed the paper back to the
woman. "Ok enjoy your stay." they walked back to the car and drove
into the woods to head to the campsite. "Im Cass by the way" the
girl said to Eizen as they sat in the car. "Oh…nice to meet you Cass
it's a good thing im not the only first timer hehe." he smiled then
looked out the window the feeling was getting worse the deeper they
went. What was this feeling he kept getting and why was it getting
worse? He could only wonder but it began to become overwhelming
as they arrived at an open area in a hill. Chris looked over to him
before getting out of the car. "Ok your sis said they will be here later
tonight when the ceremony starts. Until then ill help you unpack and
set up your tent." Everyone got out and pulled their bags and
equipment from the car then went to look for spot to pitch a tent.
Eizen was never good at putting up his tent and was starting to get
frustrated as it kept collapsing. "Ugh… I hate this thing." he tried to fix
it as man wearing a black vest walked over. "Need some help Ei?"
Eizen looked over to see him, the man was bald with a large grin and
bracelet made of two antique forks bent together definitely hand
made. "Oh sure thanks been half an hour already trying to get this
thing up." he shook the man's hand as they both propped the tent
back up and started to assemble it. "Yeah these things are funny like
that but my crack head and your brain can figure it out." he gave a
grin as they both worked on the tent and finally set it up. "im Jason
im a friend of your sister's heard a lot about you glad to have met
you." they shook hands again and looked over their work. "Good to
meet you as well Jason and thanks for the help." Eizen said as he
unpacked the rest of his belongings into his tent. "When you're done ill
show you around the camp if you want." Jason said as he looked
around and pointed to the top of the hill where large stones were
stacked. "That is the stone circle and where the main ritual will be and
the tent down the hill is the workshops." He started walking down
with Eizen down past the workshop tent further down the hill. "I think
you will like this." he said as they both to a small circle of stacked
stones. "This is the fairy cairn." he said with a grin. Eizen felt that
strange feeling the most here and it made him dizzy and sick as he
stood next to it. "Uh. Mind if we head back I want to get some lunch
to eat." Jason nodded then they both headed back and Eizen took
notice to a new feeling or rather a lack of a feeling he normally had.
The four weren't with him and they always were. "Something is really
not right here." he thought as they walked up the hill to the kitchen
where a tall man with long blond hair looked over. Eizen knew exactly
who it was as he looked up. "Hey Rea long time no see how you
been?" the man turned to face them his glasses just sitting at the end
of his nose. "Eizen… Glad to see you." he gave a corny evil laugh and
fiddled his fingers. "Remind me to get you with some sparkles later."
Eizen got the reference to Twilight vampires and gave a glare. "You
know ill have to kill you if you do that." Rea gave a fake surprised
face then turned back to cooking food and making tea. Eizen grabbed
a few hot dogs and a burger then headed back to his tent hoping the
food would help the feeling he was getting all day go away. He walked
into his tent and sat down on the cot to eat pulling out his I-pod to
listen to some music the dizzy feeling was getting worse so he
decided to lay down with his music playing and fell fast asleep. "Jason
he didn't look very well." Rea said he sat down with some food. "His
aura didn't cope well with the shield around here and I guess taking
him to the cairn without asking the girls to let him in wasn't smart
either." said Jason as he paused to think. "Let him rest and ill get him
up for the main ritual." he looked over to Rea and grinned. "He had
other with him they are friendly so we can let them in Bunny said."
Rea nodded and looked at Eizen's tent." Ill open the shield for them
after im done eating hmm… I wonder how he will deal at the main
ritual?" he looked back at Jason with a small amount of concern.
Jason just grinned. "Im sure he will be ok." they both walked off to
get things ready for the ritual. Eizen continued to sleep and saw
images of the same man over and over hearing the same words said
to him. "Your time is coming soon, very soon…" he was woken up by
a sudden noise outside his tent and he jumped up covered in sweat.
"Ei? Sorry I didn't mean to scare you remember me right Lesley, from
your sister's party last month?" he rubbed his eyes and looked up to
her and nodded. "Hey Lez haven't seen you since then been ok?" he
stood up and moved some of his bags around so he could move
around better. "I have been well, Jason wanted me to get you up."
she gave him an odd look and tilted her head. "You doing ok?" he
nodded again looking outside. "Much better then I was when I got
here, how long have I been out its dark already?" she just giggled and
looked up to the stones circle. "I guess we should head up then
right?" he said as he peeked over her shoulder to see everyone
walking up to the circle. Lez nodded and smiled then ran up the hill to
the others with Eizen not far behind. "Ok everyone get around the
center and hold hands. Ill begin as soon as everyone is set." said Rea
as he walked into the circle. Eizen looked around as they all gathered
together but something didn't seem right with the circle. He felt the
energy around the others start to change slowly. "Ok then we will
now begin the main ritual it will be nice and short this time." Rea put
his hands together and closed his eyes as he spoke. "I would like to
ask the gods to bless this day and those who are here to partake in
this gathering. And I wish to invite any of the friendly spirits that
anyone has come here with and happily welcome them." Eizen stood
there as an awkward silence came when Rea finished. The he still felt
the energy changing then he heard growling suddenly and looked
around to see what was making it. Then he noticed it wasn't an
animal it was Lez standing behind him. "Lez? You ok?" he said as a
few others started to do the same it was Chris and Ken and a Jason
and a few others, the rest just stood with their eyes closed. He
started to get nervous and looked back to Lez, his eyes growing wide
with shock. "Holy s**t!!" He didn't see Lez what he saw was a catlike
creature with yellow eyes smiling at him standing on its hind legs
wearing her clothes. "s**t s**t s**t s**t I have to be dreaming." he said
as he stumbled backwards seeing everyone else has also changed
into different creatures. He heard a loud crash to the right of him and
looked over seeing a large red dragon. "WHAT THE ********!!" he
jumped up and ran outside the circle then down the hill past the fairy
Cairn and didn't stop until he ran out of breath. He leaned on a tree
trying to figure out what was going on when a sudden pain ran
through his chest forcing him to his knees. "Ahh god!" he yelled out.
He didn't notice till now that his own energy was changed as well and
it filled him with fear. He looked up and saw that figure again looking
at him. "Who…what are you and why do you keep appearing?!!" he
screamed at him still in pain.
The man smirked and leaned down to him. "Don't you know? I am you."
