• My Favorite Object -The Curved Pine Cone

There are some things in life that people just don't see as important. In my opinion, the most simplest things can make an impact on people's lives. See, for example, most people wouldn't think that my most treasured object is a silly old pine cone. They would think that as weird, but they don't know why. It is nothing but a small one, slightly curved like a boat, and has the smell of sap on it. Approximately nine or ten years ago, my family went on a camping trip. It was just a lot of friends and family meeting together and hanging out for a few days. Through the years, my memories of it have faded, but thanks to this simple pine cone, I remember the little bit I do today.
I think it was the second day into this camping experience, and I had already met a couple of friends. We started playing around as soon as I got there. That was before we judged other people by their looks or some other immature things we do nowadays. Anyway, it was on the second day when one of the grownups there, I think it was one of my friends moms, gave us a game to play. She had assigned us all partners, if I remember correctly his name was Robert, and gave us a tiny piece of paper with a shape on it. Each team had to look for a pine cone with the same shape that was on the paper. I looked down at the blue colored paper and saw a curved shape. It took us a long time to find it but we did.
Now, if you still think it's silly that a pine cone is my favorite object, here's why it is. I think remembering things from years ago is a really important thing to do. I was only four, now I'm fourteen! This small pine cone is the only thing locking these memories up in a box. I will try not to have it fall off its tree.
