You see the mountains spread before you,
Reaching for the sky
You watch the waves crash on the seashore
As little kids run by
You hear the wind blow through the trees,
The fall leaves fluttering
You talked to your best friend today
In a soft muttering
You smell the flowers in the air,
A fragrance on the breeze
You smell the scent of winter’s coming
A gentle Christmas freeze
But I will never hear these things,
Nor taste, or touch, or see,
Because my teenaged mother
Had no more love for me.

Description:
This was a poem I wrote from the point of a little child whose mother aborted her beofre she had a chance to live. When I wrote this, I imagined a young girl clothed in white watching the girl who would have been her best friend grow up and make friends and live her life. This young girl is talking to the girl who would have been her best friend about the life she wanted but could never have.
NOTE: Not written to offend anyone who is pro-abortion. If you're for abortion, just skip this over. - Date: 12/21/2008
