A floating cloud in the water,
it lightly flicks its fins to pause.
Seemingly it is nothing, still,
a mannequin that is not frozen.
But when approached this creature will,
dart away, but stay near, watching.
It seems like a worried, frightened doll,
its eyes fixated to either side.
A basic survival need, a flight,
this fleeing being darts away.
The shadows of the water conceal
primitive anxieties felt.
It is in this underwater cloud,
the most intense fears are drawn.
constant watching, never blinking,
we suddenly feel a shadow behind.

- Title: The Fish
- Artist: IflanaNifi
- Description: Just something I wrote for school based off a format of Rainer Maria Rilke poems. The idea is to describe the animal with minimal actual description of it's physical features and to also connect it to human emotion. I chose a fish!
