No Life

• Description: I wrote this when I was in seventh grade. I was not all there at the time. Someone I had loved dearly had passed on and, I had directed all my attention to my writing. It was a hard but, writing helped and still helps me channel my emotions. My two English teachers and my close friends love this poem, and, I myself am proud of it. I do not write poetry very often, and, when I do, it normally is not to the best of my ability. But this poem is different of course.

There's no life in the fire,
There's no life in your eyes.
There's no life in the flames,
That brought your demise.

There's no life in the people,
No life in the house.
Can you hear the tears,
Of your weeping spouse?

Are you in heaven,
Are you in hell?
Because by your face I just can't tell.

I miss you, my love,
Your touch, your kiss your smile.
I wish you'd have stay longer,
Or at least a little while.
