• Two twin towers
    Standing tall,
    Making others
    Seem so small.

    A plane nearby
    Flying high,
    Transporting passengers
    Through the sky.

    The plane flies closer,
    Humming, droning,
    Soaring, gliding,
    Ever coming.

    Two twin towers
    Standing tall,
    Making others
    Seem so small.

    The plane is close now,
    The impact sure,
    Many people today
    Will live no more.

    The plane is seen
    People point and yell
    As it homes in
    Bringing with it hell.

    Two twin towers
    Standing tall,
    In less than two hours
    Shall be nothing at all.

The plane hits the north tower
    A dagger of burning death
    Sacrificing many
    Burning those left.

    Deadly snakes of smoke
Slither to the floors up high,
    Strangling unsuspecting workers
    Who stand confusedly by.

    Two twin towers
    Standing tall,
    In less than two hours
    Shall be nothing at all.

    The danger sinks in,
    The bottom floors rush
    Down the stairs
    To avoid being crushed.

    A second plane comes
    Its target is clear,
    It hits the south tower
    Throwing debris far and near.

    Two twin towers
    Standing tall,
    In less than two hours
    Shall be nothing at all.

These people knew there was danger
    But could not leave,
    They were told to stay,
    And now families grieve.

    Many people leapt out
    To escape the searing heat.
    All fell to their death
    On the rubble-strewn street.

    Two twin towers,
    Standing tall,
    The centre of world trade,
    Today they will fall.

    Survivors watch,
    They stand in awe,
    As the south tower collapses
    With a deafening roar.

    Something snaps,
    There is a loud rumble,
And the north tower also falls
    And noisily crumples.

    Two twin towers
    Through which two planes tore,
    Are a pile of rubble,
    They are towers no more.

    All in America
    Will remember that day
    When those two planes came
And took their loved ones away.
We will never forget the dead
    But we should remember those
    Who sacrificed themselves
    Saving people who weren’t close.

    Whilst we may grow old
    And our memories fail,
    The impact is still there
    And will never pale.
