The Sun I'll Never See

I lay in my bed thinking
maybe I'm just here wrinkling
Getting up is what I cannot
as I am a baby in a cot

In a hospital I am
Surrounded by posters of spam

My parents I never see
Being inside a container is me
knowing I may not live
as a heart no one will give

As a baby being surrounded
I am always to be confounded
Why wont anyone care
as I am just about bare

As the sun gets to rise
I then hope for a surprise
as a heart is what I need
I can only hope the doctors will speed

Awake for a day
I think it'll be Ok
A heart is found in time
but not made in time for this rhyme

I think I may have died
or maybe I survived
who knows, as I am just a baby.

My sister just lost a baby, so reading this is somewhat hopeful. But what about the baby not seeing it's parents? Did the parents abandon it?
