Dead Fingers, blacker then the sky
Reach aimlessly for hope
The stars twinkle in contrast
Of the lustful purple sky
And the lightless black hole
We stare in wonder at it
Past the fingers
Ingoring the stars
Wondering about the hole
What robbed us of our eternal night-light?
We huddle constantly closer
We're frightened together
Trying to use ourselves as lights
We're guiding eachother
It's a hopeless mission
Through this lightless night
Who could be cruel enough?
We lose track
Of the lightless whole
Of that lustful sky
And eventually of eachother
We reach like the dead fingers
We're blind and aimless
But more than all
We're terrified of the dark
