• Description: Its weird how this one came about...I was trying to fall asleep(yet again) and I was listening to a song called Devour by Shinedown, its about the war going on, and i got the feeling like I just had to write a poem about the war. And so, Here it is!! Hope you like it :]

Life in darkness
Death in sleep
Shadows wander
Every street

Prayers are unanswered
In broken homes
They leave no messages
On unmarked stones

Lives are taken
Day by Day
To leave their souls
Unrested and astray

A simple prayer
Is all it takes
And yet their lives
Are laid to waste

To hope for the dawn
Of a bright new day
Is like praying on pain
That won't go away

So their they sit
Alone in streets
Lives at stake, for
Lives at waste
