• Description: I wrote this poem when I was at a time in my life where I felt that everything needed to be heard. I wrote it for myself and friends because I will always believe that you should stand up for what you believe in even when everyone else is sitting down. No one should ever be silenced because of their beliefs.

Don't tell them
what they want to hear
tell them your thoughts
be their fear.
Don't let them break you,
Keep your head high,
Show them again
you will not die.
Stand up and fight
for what you believe,
don't let them change you
they deceive.
Don't ever cry,
it will not heal,
ignore the pain,
pretend its not real.
Hide your feelings,
fake what you show,
pretend its alright
and they'll never know.
Speak your opinions,
you're doing no wrong,
keep on singing
to your own song.
Don't listen to them,
make a choice,
make yourself heard
before you lose your voice.
