• The ship set sail as dusk departed
    And dawn spilled cleanly
    Over billowing seas
    The lamenting ocean
    Took the sailors abroad
    Away from their coast
    Away from their land
Away from the life they thought they owned
    The waves engulfed them
    Yet they stood strong
    For nothing could defy them
To those brave men and women
    No peril was a threat
Not even the silky cries of the treacherous mer-people
Nor the thousand arms of deadly sea monsters
    Could douse their shimmering courage
    Many silver moons passed
    And the Mirabelle sailed on
Salty water lashing at the hull with deadly teeth
    From light until dark
Rust slowly overcame its beautiful tiller
Yet it stood strong until the end
    And the last night came
    For the weary crew
When they sank beneath the turmoil of waves
Never to see their land again
