Pearl moonlight casts a dim glow
Across the blades of smooth grass I sit on.
Shadows and outlines are nearly all that are
Visible;
I am caught in the blackness
Of a bold willow.
Few clouds are present,
Letting the stars that freckle the dark canvas
Be shown.
A lone bird caws.
The soft scent of lavender eases my shoulders
And warms my numb fingertips.
My long hair is lifted slightly
By the light breeze,
A single blonde strand caresses my face and tickles my nose.
With my knees curled against my chest,
I can feel the subtle strumming of my heart
On my legs.
Silently,
A feather-like leaf sways to the ground,
Caught in a small flurry of wind.
With crystal eyes, I watch it fall.
I watch
How the eerie moon shines down on my stone body,
How the light makes my pale skin seem
Almost translucent.
Bare arm is ivory.
A lonely bullfrog sings a sad song
From far away, yet the mournful tune
Still finds its way into my ears.
Time is not present
As I wait.
Listening.
Watching.
Feeling.
This absence of sun.

- Gorgeous word choice, it somehow flows perfectly.

- Very dark and depressing I like it though very Allen Poe ish, A good under current of emotion with a hint of curiosity at what the character is doing waiting alone.
