• Struggle to find Life

I jump into the ocean of forgotton things,
I search for something impossible to find in the vastness.
I swim down into the murky darkness.
I feel uncomfortable, and realize, the water is schorching hot.
The heat constricts my body like a deadly snake,
    It burns my thoart.
My eyes sting from the murky water,
    My heart struggles to beat.
    But still, I swim deeper.
    I strain my eyes
To look for the forgotton treasure,
    My limbs are heavy,
They drag me down into the dark depths
But I still search for the forgotten item.
My lungs are screaming for air.
I want to give into their selfish cries.
I am about to give up, and let myself go,
    But then I spot it,
On top of other forgotten treasures.
I swim down to the shining wonder.
I seize it in my hand.
    Ignoring the others.
    My heart feels lighter.
I let it float me to the surface.
    My head breaks the surface
The silence shatters, as I take in the wonderful breath
The water is no longer boiling
    But a calm, lukewarm
As I float on the surface of the lake.
I stare in wonderment at my empty hands.
