You do not have to be perfect.
You do not have to beg and plead
and pray for absolution
from the angry voices of the world
or your mind. Love yourself.
Speak out loud your fears
and we will shout at the dark
together.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the beauty of possibility
refracts brightly in the palm of your hand.
Meanwhile, enjoy the wild thoughts,
those moments where you entertain the idea
of never going home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how trapped
you perceive yourself to be, the future
is a beacon of freedom.
A lighthouse shining in the violent storms
of uncertainty.
A soft, impatient voice pleading you to forsake
your family and precious things.
