From the stars I peer down upon mankind,
The atmosphere’s serenity quite true;
Wrapped around tight so fixedly entwined,
Slowly unravels its grip gone askew;
Retreating then I fall through drifting down,
I hear cries of joy as children throw snow
Dodging this way and that, laughing through town.
Shivering their cheeks are red with a glow.
Farther down I see flames consuming trees;
I hear cries of battle and war; brave men
Fighting. All for what cause? I hear their pleas.
No lives shall be wasted needlessly, what then?
Behold, the darkness can make one a mope,
And yet, there is still some shimmering hope.
