Just because I’m a girl
Doesn’t mean I wear dresses
Doesn’t mean I wear lipstick
Doesn’t mean I wear 5 inch high heels
Just because I’m a girl
Doesn’t mean I have tea-parties
Doesn’t mean I curtsy
Doesn’t mean I cry at sad movies
Just because I’m a girl
Doesn’t mean I sit back and watch
Doesn’t mean I’m a stay-at-home mom
Doesn’t mean I’m powerless to men
Just because I’m a girl – treat me with respect

- Not all men so women as this. I for one see all humans as whole beings and complex creatures full of emotions and beliefs and memories and interests. I speak only for myself, however. This is a good poem.
