Just broken people in a broken world
Just shattered hearts with hopeless dreams
Tear shaped raindrops with tear laden eyes
Suppressed cries bursting our seams

How can we save each other when we drown ourselves?
How can we love one another when we cut ourselves?

We’re nothing but broken people with broken dreams
Crying for something and getting nothing
We’re just hopeless beings with hopeless hearts
Sick of dying and sick of trying

Screaming softly
Putting us off the edge of insanity
No one listening
So we try a new vanity

Tattoos of self loathe cover our wrists
Darkened eyes falling in the skulls of the dead
Breathless, hopeless, lifeless
Piercing our bodies to say what cannot be said

Those who are lost try to emulate
They bring mocks upon our grief
For our emptiness they cannot simulate

Our pain is a joke
Forcing us deeper in our nothingness
Our suicide their song lyrics
Giving them fortune and friendships

Fortune belonging to us
Without our pain they would be lost
They bring shame to the game
Yet we are shamelessly tossed

so true i understand how u go i know some ppl they joke around and have fun and call themselves "emo" but from my veiw they never cryed, never know true pain, its just a fake cry for attention it makes me sick

i understand this poem because their a lot of "emo" people at my school but their just fakers. i mean im not emo and im not here to judge but they just act emo.they think their so great because they have leopard print pants or zebra pants from hot topic and just because of what they wear they act like there so great and they are actually way worse then preppy girls. they put people down and think their gods of their "emo" clothes. i h8 them! oh yeah btw i like your poem.
