Afterthought of a pen,
Remnant of a key touched,
Scratchings of a pencil.
Please stop!
Their malice overwhelms me.
For my fears here
are personified, given life.
Surrounding me,
no refuge of escape
to block out all these things
barraging me constantly.
Everyday occurrences-
rolling off tongues,
marking papers,
typed documents.
A never-ending battle,
forever on the losing side.
For how can you evade
those menacing words?

Description:
Well, this is my first time ever submitting writing on Gaia yet. I did have a poetry account on a different site, allpoetry.com, although I haven't done much lately. (I had the same user name as now, though...XD) Anyways, this poem was written for a prompt about a phobia. You should probably be able to tell what it is, eventually. I made it a little obscure.
*Also, DON'T STEAL MY STUFF! This poem is actually sort of published.* - Date: 02/23/2009
