They say the most horrible things are born in the night
When the moon is full the world fills with spite
Like a hostess entertaining a guest
Demonic toy makers work their best
It all starts with the skin, but what to choose?
It has to be something that pleases a muse
Perhaps cloth made from the finest leather
Found off of a corpse, soft from the weather
Next to sew it as one
Using a black widow spider’s web until it’s done
The thin sticky thread is perfect as well
For stuffing the doll’s soft, hollow shell
The hair is picked carefully, too
Spanish moss taken from where it grew
It flows lovely in the wind
Whispering sorrows to make amends
Eyes are black as the night alone
Eyes that replicate Nyx’s own
They look right through you, deep into your core
And take away the soul you had before
After sewing the clothes found here and there
They must choose a name for the doll carefully with care
They can’t have something that seems too happy
But nothing too grotesque or even sappy
After long judgment of ideas for a name
They found the right one for the doll to claim
“Malice is what it shall be!” one cried out
The others approved with synchronized shouts
With the meaning for the desire to cause harm
She will draw people in with her ghostly charm
And then when the moment is right
She will kill with all her might
The doll created and the name is made
Then she is bought through a legal trade
Unsuspecting humans will buy
Unknowing to the threat growing sky high
One of the greatest dolls ever created
Maybe the one your child has hated
Waiting in the shadows and singing horrifying songs
Making people face their horrible wrongs
So look out for the ones that are born in the night
That looks innocent with strange delight
For she captures souls with bottomless eyes
Because in the end, you will be the one who dies
