Once upon a midnight cold, I was flying, weak and old
When I chanced upon a sleepy snore
On the window I was tapping, rapping, snapping, rapping, tapping
And the man soon broke his snore, though snore he broke he longed for more
And goes he not to Raven poor
He started for his chamber door.
Man awakes, start he makes, to door he takes
No one there when opened door, he wonders now of ghost Lenore
Tap again, rap again, snap again
Then cold, cold, I am cold to my core
My mind is not mine, my body no more
The are now of ghost Lenore.
I tap, and rap, and snap again
I tap, and rap, and snap some more
The man is scared, but comes prepared
And window he opens, done crossing the floor
And window he opens and my body no more
Fly up to the door by ghost Lenore.
Raven he wonders, Raven he cries
Natural or not, be ye no more
And the fire is brightened while man is frightened
And man sinks to the floor
For his mind is his no more;
It is gone by ghost Lenore.

- Title: The Raven Rewritten
- Artist: fruity fruity fruit loop
- Description: This is my version of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", a creepy poem in which a raven drives a man to insanity. My version is told from the raven's point of view, telling it's side of the story.

- Why, thank you. I was proud. And you're right about the flow, but it's hard to match his style!

- Interesting. I like the, shall I call it audacity?, of rewriting a classic. The pentameter is a bit off at times (It does not flow as easily as the original, I'm sorry to say) but with the omission of some weaker lines (you use tapping, rapping and such a lot, while the Raven must have more going on in his mind than just making noise) it's a genuinely interesting read. Nice job!
