A sea that lies before me
gleaming, dreaming e'er like angels
fluttering 'round 'neath the waters,
Is the most beautiful thing I see.
Not in it is a notion nor a script of hell
And marvelous are your flound'ring daughters.
A sight that dies before me
like waves that sway and recess,
So is the life of the Sea.
I'll miss its raging, shouting caress
that reaches into my very heart.
I sought what was beautiful to me,
All its luster and its shine
Were endlessly expansive in my eyes,
Like the beauty of the sea.
But in the end, in death, what is mine?
When everything I know from sight has died?
