In the tall shadow of the Dark Tower,
Where your inveterate nightmares lay, lest
You forget how your mind did cower.
Hands gently caress the virgin’s bower;
How easily one falls into slumber to rest
In the tall shadow of the Dark Tower.
Old, familiar wonders turn sour;
Awakened by an unwelcome guest,
You forget how your mind did cower.
Return to your abyssal dreaming hour
And discover a vine-enveloped chest
In the tall shadow of the Dark Tower
To crack it open you muster all of your power;
To find your heart pumping in a feather-made nest;
You forget how your mind did cower.
And as you hold your fantasies in a leaved shower,
A premonition stirs from a void in your breast.
In the tall shadow of the Dark Tower,
You forget how your mind did cower.
