You ask me if I understand, but you won't look me in the eye
I nod my head and take deep breaths; in front of you I can't cry
But as you turn away, as I wish you'd change your mind
I know you won't; it's not your way, you just cannot be mine
So now I stand, to numb to know if I'm upset or mad, or sad
The feelings flow too fast to grasp, and I almost wish I had
I wish I was strong enough to scream, to ask you to stay
But deep down I know, you have to go, this was our last day
And as the sting of tears p***k my eyes, heavy is my heart
I tried so hard to fix this love, but it still just fell right apart
In the end, you couldn't pretend to be something you weren't
Love's flames consume, and I by he fire was left hot and burnt
So now I weep silent tears, that burn all hrough my viens
But this horrid memory, in time will be all that remains
I feel the tears, and know my fears were justified by this plight
You felt the need to turn and flee, now my day has turned to night
