• How Hard Did They Try?

    They tried to save me,
But how hard did they try?
Because at the end of it all,
    They just let me die.

You’d think that they would care,
    Enough to shed a tear.
But nothing glistened on their cheeks,
    Not even out of fear.

    They didn’t even feel regret
    About everything they had done.
They said it was all fun and games,
Just trying to have some fun.

    All of them were drunk,
    Fake smiles across their face,
They said it was time to have some fun,
My heart then started to race.

    They swarmed around me,
    Taking hold of my wrists,
Then the next thing I felt,
Was the pounding of their fists.

Each and every hit I took,
I cried out until they stopped,
And then when they were satisfied,
    My lifeless body dropped.

They stood around and watched me die,
    While someone called the police,
I didn’t care whether I lived or died,
I just wanted the pain to cease.

    The ambulance finally arrived,
But found out they were to late,
Because when they saw me lying there,
My heart no longer had its rate.
