In the dead of the night
Out of sight
come creeps the serpent
malvolence of the highest degree
though no one can see
the closer it got
life drew further away
an innocent infant
to death it became a servant
succumbs to its deadly embrace
life is no more
in its cold embrace.
what would have been great
what would have ben glorious
the future of one
wasted by negligence
the future of one destroyed,
ended in its cold embrace.

- Title: Cold Embrace
- Artist: that_wayward_child
- Description: Inspired by the 2-year-old baby who died in the hands of his pet python which had gotten loose in the middle of the night. It was in the news. Look it up. Very sad.

hmmm...titchy...but interesting...the rhyme scheme, if there is one, is sort of rough...style is fairly conventional...nice use of imagery, could use more though...great use of figurative language...
