Tiny wrinkled seeds from which life come,
planted in the ground to slowly,
ever so slowly
push their sprouts up from under the earth
and grow tall, and climb,
and flourish.
as leaves unfurl and stems extend cautious tendrils to seek
any crevice or fracture
to curl around,
vines grow and creep along walls,
growing branches upon branches,
all intertwined.
on top of, and in and out of one another,
until they form a blanket
rich with greenery
then as the rain stops flowing and the dirt dries, slowly,
ever so slowly,
the plant dies.
