I've lived my life thus far,
in the back of a darkened bar,
where the lights are low,
and the music don't go slow.
And all around me,
all my life,
I've been dancing with strangers.
Nothing compares,
to faceless, nameless, hotblooded darkness,
where the lights flash,
and the hands snatch,
where love and a good hard beat are one and the same.
Writhing and grinding,
with hot, dimlit bodies,
and on this beat I'm riding,
'til there's nothing but flashing lights.
Sweating and grasping,
for something more than synths and smoke,
I can't stop myself from asking,
"May I have this dance?"
Nothing compares,
to faceless, nameless, hotblooded darkness,
where the lights flash,
and the hands snatch,
where love and a good hard beat are one and the same.
And when I can't think anymore,
cuz the beat's got my heart wrapped,
tighter than I've ever known,
I fight to stay my self,
but I always lose,
to the rhythm.
Nothing compares,
to faceless, nameless, hotblooded darkness,
where the lights flash,
and the hands snatch,
where love and a good hard beat are one and the same.
