Started as a normal day
the halls alive with noise
then it all fell away
as she was faced with a choice
Standing firm on her belief
she walked the halls with a heart of gold
and yet a bitter taste felt so brief
as the winds of hatred blew
everything grew cold
and nobody knew
that she would go
God did you hear her confession
she believes in your strength
although on the floor she lays
and she believes in redemption
as the trigger was pulled
nobody knew
she'd say yes
tears of remorse
bitter pain
another corpse
where her beauty was stained
by the blood she spilled for her
distant God who says he was there
did he really care
maybe so
I don't know
I'm not here to question
but get some answers
but I've forgotten
what it means
to believe
God did you hear her confession
she believes in your strength
although on the floor she lays
and she believes in redemption
as the trigger was pulled
nobody knew
she'd say yes
and no one here can say they'd do the same
she's a hero in my eyes
and she didn't die vain
no one here can say they'd answer yes
you're liar if you do
you'd say maybe at best
she was close to many around her
and she's forsaken by her Creator
maybe He couldn't wait
to have her there another day
so her mansion up in heaven
must be pretty well lit
for her heart and her courage
for the thing that she did
God did you hear her confession
she believes in your strength
although on the floor she lays
and she believes in redemption
as the trigger was pulled
nobody knew
she'd say yes
