• Flitting,
    Fluttering,
    Flinging forward,
    Dancing in the sunlight.

    Spinning,
    Dipping,
    Twisting twice,
Falling to earth and beginning again.

    But when the sunlight fades,
    and the world turns gray,
The Butterfly flits to his nest,
    and hides his face away.

    Trembling,
    Shivering,
    Shaking pathetically,
Out comes a small glowing being.

    She shakes off her wings,
    Turns on her light,
    and flits,
    and flutters,

    And twists,
    and dips,
    and shines,
    Like the Firefly

    She is.
