I never really cared about it for what it's worth
I've been killing time and chasing cars since my birth
And it never really changes,
Never really goes away
But I've got a pocket knife in my hands
And I'll carve our names into leather bands
To prove that we exist, to ourselves
And to the rest of the world
So when that falls down straight to the ground
Like a satellite set to crash in the water
We'll just sit back and watch the flames
And metal fall down into the sea
But now I can't wait
For to long
Cause I can't stand
To hold on
(Do you really have to rip it all down?
Why don't we stay here and wait for the bomb?)x2
Now I can't land
On my own
What happens when I give all of this away
For the promise to see it all another day
What about the pact that was made
By our forefathers before I was ever okay
Now our messiah says to us about his day
He died for us once, but never again
So on your knees now, it's time to pray
Cross your chest now we all say amen
Well maybe I should hate your for this
But I'm confused about how it's all done
Turn it back to that time in my past
Where I didn't ever have to run
But now I can't wait
For to long
Cause I can't stand
To hold on
(It's time now for you to know,
I never really knew where to go.)x2
Now I can't land
On my own
But now I can't wait
For to long
Cause I can't stand
To hold on
Now I can't land
On my own
