• Enter boy and girl
    Playing in the dirt,
Smiles on both of their faces.

    What a bright, fun world!
    There can be no bad
    In these wonderful places.

    Enter boy and girl,
    Walking to their class,
Sandbox days left in the past.

    Growing up so soon,
    But they still are friends,
Going through so much so fast.

    There goes boy and girl.
    They walk hand in hand.
She has given him her heart.

    They spend all their time
    Together in love.
You will not see them apart.

    Finish boy and girl.
    They are now to leave.
    High school is finally done.

    He takes her finger,
    And places a ring.
He says to her, “You’re the one.”

    Expenses build up.
    He has to leave soon.
    He says, “The army’s calling.”
    She is left alone.
    Where is he right now?
She feels like she is falling.

    She gets a letter.
    She begins to cry.
How could this story be true?

    Suicide bomber?
    No known survivors?
Didn’t he say, “I love you”?

    Exit boy and girl.
    Never had a chance.
Their life never got to start.

    She holds his locket,
    Forever on her,
Right there so close to her heart.
