My dearest friend,
I miss you so.
I miss your smile,
I miss your hugs.
We were best friends,
Stuck like glue.
Like any friends,
We stuck through to the end.
Partying and drinking,
Mom calls,
Time to go home.
I'll get a ride,
You said.
I told you to just go.
Why did you listen?
Why did I tell you to go?
I don't know.
I honestly don't.
I'm sorry I wasn't there
When you needed me most.
I left you,
Abandoned you.
I couldn't face myself,
What I'd done.
I blamed myself for what happened,
And still haven't let it go.
You were my best friend,
Practically sisters,
You and I.
I hope you forgive me
And the mistakes I made.
I hope you know I stopped drinking.
I stopped the drugs.
I want you to know I'm still here,
Living the life you should be living.
I miss you so much,
And maybe one day,
If I can,
I'll forgive myself.
